A premier commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in large-scale investment transactions—many of which are off-market—is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee financial operations, optimize portfolio performance, and contribute to strategic growth initiatives. With a strong portfolio of properties and businesses, the firm has been a major player in real estate acquisitions, sales, and financing, having facilitated billions in real estate deals focused on multi-family, retail, office, and development properties.
The CFO will be responsible for managing the financial health and stability of the firm’s current real estate holdings while playing a critical role in its future expansion. This executive will oversee financial planning, investment analysis, capital structuring, and risk management. In addition to handling day-to-day financial operations, the CFO will work closely with leadership to identify opportunities for scaling the business, improving financial efficiency, and securing new investments. This is a hybrid position requiring two days in the office on Long Island, offering flexibility while maintaining close collaboration with the executive team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial management of the company’s real estate assets, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow optimization.
- Develop and execute financial strategies to support business growth, acquisitions, and investment opportunities.
- Manage capital structuring, debt financing, and lender relationships to optimize real estate funding.
- Analyze financial performance of properties, identifying ways to increase profitability and maximize asset value.
- Collaborate with ownership and executive leadership to drive long-term financial planning and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and real estate investment guidelines.
- Lead accounting, financial reporting, and audit functions, maintaining accurate and transparent financial records.
- Establish and refine financial controls, policies, and operational efficiencies across the company.
- Partner with property management and operations teams to align financial goals with business objectives.
- Evaluate and implement technology and financial systems to improve reporting and financial decision-making.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a CFO or senior financial leadership role within the real estate industry.
- Strong knowledge of real estate finance, asset management, acquisitions, and capital markets.
- Experience managing large real estate portfolios, including multi-family, commercial, and mixed-use properties.
- Expertise in financial modeling, investment analysis, and risk assessment.
- Solid understanding of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and financial reporting standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while balancing strategic planning with day-to-day operations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, particularly with investors, lenders, and stakeholders.
- CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred but not required.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $185,000 - $220,000
- Performance-based incentives and potential equity opportunities.
