We are seeking a dynamic Sales Representative with a robust book of business in the construction industry to join our team. This role focuses on driving business development by leveraging existing relationships with contractors, builders, and renovation firms in New York City’s five boroughs. The ideal candidate will use their extensive network and industry expertise to connect construction projects with our staffing solutions, including licensed superintendents, site safety managers, competent persons, and site safety coordinators. With access to warm leads and a wealth of past client contacts, the Sales Representative will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base and ensuring projects meet DOB regulatory requirements through our staffing services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage an existing book of business to identify and secure new clients, including general contractors, builders, and renovation firms, for safety staffing services.
  • Utilize warm leads and re-engage old client contacts to generate new business opportunities for staffing licensed superintendents, site safety managers, competent persons, and site safety coordinators.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their project needs and position our staffing solutions as the go-to choice for regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with our operations team to ensure seamless delivery of staffed personnel to client projects, meeting DOB requirements and preventing inspections-related delays.
  • Conduct outreach to construction firms in the five boroughs, targeting projects that require temporary or part-time safety personnel rather than full-time salaried staff.
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet or exceed revenue targets, focusing on high-value projects needing safety staffing.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and pipeline progress in CRM systems.
  • Stay informed about NYC DOB regulations and industry trends to effectively communicate the value of our staffing solutions.
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in sales within the construction industry, with a strong book of business comprising contractors, builders, and renovation firms in New York City’s five boroughs.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction-related sales, business development, or client management, preferably with a focus on safety services or staffing.
  • Deep understanding of the construction industry, including familiarity with DOB regulations and the roles of superintendents, site safety managers, competent persons, and site safety coordinators.
  • Established network of contacts in the NYC construction sector, with the ability to re-engage past clients and convert warm leads into active accounts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to foster trust with clients and internal teams.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a competitive market.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tracking tools to manage leads, clients, and sales pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Compensation

The base salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $80,000 annually, with the opportunity to discuss a compensation package that aligns with the candidate’s expectations and experience. The On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this role are $250,000, driven by a competitive commission structure based on sales performance.
